3 years ago today rallying lost of it's greatest stars, Colin Mcrae.

This is copied and pasted of a friends facebook page:

You booked in early, slid through the pearly gates with the style you did every other corner and left our lives in such a cruel way......
Gone but never, ever forgotten...
RIP Colin Mcrae

I rather like that.

If in doubt, flat out,

RIP Colin, gone but never forgotten.

Colin McRae was a true rally legend, his motto was:

"You're here for a good time, not a long time."

RIP

Colin truely was a ledgend, and someone I had huge respect for behind the wheel.

Although for me his reputation is tarnished, taking a friend and 2 kids with him. Sideways through the trees in a chopper was never going to end well.

I still cant believe he's gone though... With Colin and Burnsy British Rallying looked like it would rule the world.. both of them taken from us so tragically..

not forgetting Beefy ofcourse.

RIP the ledgends of Rallying.

Great video. Makes me sad to see him with Travis Pastrana at the X Games, he looks so happy to be there even though he lost and rolled his car. What a gent.

I remember being told by my dad. I refused to believe him, i had to check it for myself.
The best tribute for me was at MPH in the live arena.

Lots of footage with Oasis, "roll with it" blearing out.
There wasnt a dry eye in the building.

RIP Colin.

My earliest memories of rallying were of McRae making that Legacy dance, true brilliance.

I bought a Legacy Turbo way back purely because of the association. An epic driver and and epic car. He will be missed and motorsports need more characters like himself and Richard Burns.

I had a bit of a "McRae Night" last night - watched the Colin McRae: Rally Legend DVD for the umpteenth time, then the episode of 5th Gear where VB-H attended the McRae Gathering - never fails to bring back my own memories of that event, and how happy I was to put up with being stuck in traffic getting in and out of the Prodrive test track. Don't mind admitting I shed a tear last night.

RIP Colin, Johnny, Graeme and Ben

The service was unreal, such a sad day. Seeing the streets lined with people, all silent whilst flower of scotland was played.
You are a legend and always will be. My thoughts are still with Ali and Hollie. Much love from me, and D and C Bell.
