Are Ferrari Putting Too Much Effort into Alonso?

It seems that now Ferrari are putting all their effort into Alonso there isn't enough left to keep poor old Massa going. On Saturday his gearbox broke and they replaced it with one that was barely much better. Have they replaced his race mechanics with two FIAT mechanics from under a Roman viaduct arch? Did Saturday night go something like this?

Mech 1: Hey Gino, Phillipe needsa new gearbox, can he bring eet in?

Mech 2: Tella 'im to comma back Toosday

Mech 1: It'sa no good, He needsa noo gearbox now

Mech 2: Waitta there

Mech 2 lights up a fag and disappears round the back of a Motorhome. Lots of shouting, banging, rattling and ten miutes later Gino's back.

Mech 2: I gotta one from a Grande Punto

Mech 1: Multo bene. I tell him bringa in da car.

Where are you getting this information from?

24th to 8th, is no train smash in my book.

Ferrari want, nay, need Massa to be up there as much as possible. Every point he takes from Webber, Hamilton, Vettel and Button makes it all the more likely that Alonso will take the WDC and Ferrari will be in with a better shout of the constructor's championship

From the radio transmission that told him to stop using first gear because the gearbox was overheating.

And let's be honest here the other Ferrari was two seconds a lap quicker than the vast majority of all the other cars on the grid. Taking the two safety car situations into account he should have been higher than 8th.

In addition you must be able to see that the whole thing was written tongue in cheek - take a chill pill man.

Why would Ferrari put as much effor into helping Massa than Alonso? Massa hasnt got a chance of winning the drivers championship this year. Also, since coming back from his accident, he hasnt looked himself either. He's not as quick, definatly lost something. Get rid for 2011 & bring in Kubica from Renault.

Aye Lad, the WDC might be where the glory is but the constructors' table is where the money is - and you need both cars as high as possible for that.

The safety cars messed Massa's race strategy, as he had already been in for tyres and was not able to capitalise them due to the first safety car.

Ferrari in clear air faster than Ferrai 'stuck' in a chain of slower cars shocker, this may account for the gearbox oil issue also.

I thought you has read something said by Massa to suggest the gearbox was an issue, or had some other inside info.
