Bugger. Nige really needs to find himself a BTCC seat. This kind of series suits his style perfectly. Do it Nige, not for you, but for everyone else!

Hmmm. Zytec went into administration this week too as they wouldn't agree a deal with Lawrence from Ginetta.

Wonder if the two are linked in some way too.

The car itself has actually been advertised for sale in the Autosport mag for the last 2-3 weeks

Yeah I noticed that, kind of presumed they'd be buying an Aston or something to replace it. How odd - I wonder when a Mansell will stick to anything for longer than a season?

Seeing as the reasons haven't been stated....do you not think it a little unfair to be making assumptions?

He really wasn't a well person when I met him on the Silverstone race....there has to be an alternative reason, as the car and team certainly weren't embarrassing themselves.

On Endurance-info Mansell Sr is quoted as saying they were hoping to attract interest from a manufacturer. Not sure whether that means a vehicle or a chassis manufacturer but either way it translates to we're not racing if we have to pay for it.

They had quite a bit of bad luck, a shame they couldn't put in a whole season and the car looked great and a strong proven package.

I didn't know Zytek went into administration. Is this the racecar side or the tech side aswell? That's a major shame, they were often touted as a leader in British technology.

Ginetta announced that Zytek Motorsport (formerly Zytek Engineering) went into administration on Friday 15th October, after a deal to sell the remaining shares to it's largest individual shareholder Ginetta Chairman, Lawrence Tomlinson fell through.

Mr Tomlinson commented:
"The deal kept changing and eventually enough was enough. The business has been badly managed for the last 18 months. Zytek's customers and employees have been badly treated as resources have been diverted to non-core activity behind mine and the Board of Directors backs. I have started a £5m law suit against Bill Gibson, a Director of Zytek Motorsport and Zytek Group. Ginetta will continue to build on it's phenomenal success and is recruiting more engineers to strengthen it's team and develop more new cars and engines in house."

Hope there is no big money loss for Mansells. Very probably this has to do with Mansell´s stubbornes and character. I am not saying he is not right though, probably is.
