Motor GP Estoril in HD

Just spotted it - not sure if it's the first time ? But the beeb are covering this weekends race in HD

As a footnote. First time I've watched the bbc coverage of the MotoGP this year - always watched it delayed on Eurosports with Moody & Ryder. But how soulless is the BBC's commentary team. The girl is simply dreadful !!

BBC are showing the final races of the season in HD as a test before broadcasting the entire 2011 season in HD.

BBC One HD launches on 3rd November, and although F1 doesn't have an HD feed the BBC should be upscaling the coverage for Brazil and Abu Dhabi (they have said any non-HD programmes will be upscaled). Given that Bernie was asked about HD earlier in the season and basically said that if there is demand for it then he will do it, hopefully we may have F1 in HD for 2011.

I'm guessing a feed that is upscaled at source by pro-broadcast gear will be doing a much better job than when my TV upscales an SD feed?

Moto GP in HD looked amazing today, as did the WTCC in the pouring rain! We only got the HD on wednesday and its sooo worth it

Its a shame the Moto 2 and 125 races wernt in HD as they were both epic and far better than the main event!
