I was at Brands recently and on the exit of the Kentagon (bar/restaurant) there's a fantastic photo taken at Paddock Hill bend of what looked like the start of an F1 race, and there is absolute chaos with cars skidding in every direction.

I've looked everywhere but can't find a copy of this. I'd love to get a big print of it for the garage.

Any ideas?

I know the photo you mean but I can't find it. It was supposedly DC whilst driving a Mclaren to blame, think it popped up in the Korean GP thread, although good luck finding it biggrin

Edit: Just realised you meant a race at Brands, in that case i've no idea!

These are the only ones I can find. I know the one you are talking about though.

Another Brands F1 race with major first lap chaos at Paddock Hill was the 1986 British GP. This was the accident in which Jacques Laffitte broke both legs, effectively ending his career. Mansell had been left standing at the startline with a sheared driveshaft, but the big crash redflagged the race, and NM took the restart in the spare car - and won it.

ETA: been trying to find some photos of this crash, but no luck yet.

I'm sure you're right - I'll be in there in a week or so, for the Britcars. I'll check and report back then biggrin

I did think of doing that but I was reluctant to commit on these pages - as in the excitement I will probably forget. I'm probably digging a deeper hole for myself now...

It's strange as I think it's such a brilliant picture but for some reason it's never been published or re-produced on the web (as far as I can find).

I even searched in the shops at Brands and no one had a copy!
