ESPN Classic - 1970 Grand Prix

Only just discovered this channel in the bowels of the Sky listings (Chan 429 btw) They are running through the highlights of the 1970 F1 Grand Prix season. The commentary is quite dry but the footage, especially for someone who wasn't around during that era, is absolutely fantastic!

Any one else watching?

Also very sobering stuff, 3 drivers died in the 1970 season.

Although was amused at Jackie stewart going out in Mexico to a 'Mexico Special' which was apparently hitting a stray dog on track,

And spectators sitting alongside the track on the grass with no barriers. That could have been really nasty.

As someone who has only really been 'into' F1 for the past 3-4 years with only a rudimentary knowledge previous to that it was truly amazing that they had to give a posthumous title to Jochen Rindt. I can't imagine what it was like for a close knit sport such as it was to live through that.
