I grew up under quite a bit of anti-Asian racial prejudice back when I was a kid. School kids are relentless with that sort of stuff. These days, I joke about it, but only in very close company. Is he sponsored by Nike?If it was easy to do, we'd all be F1 drivers. If you're the best in the world you should be able to make it happen.

I'm with you there, not necessarily a title contender, but he certainly makes F1 more interesting.
Saying that can you imagine if he was in a Ferrari or McLaren in Abu Dhabi, do you think he would have sat behind a Renault for half the race? Hell No! he'd have either overtaken or taken them out of the race within 3 or 4 laps, and thats what we need to see more of in F1.

Perhaps he's realised the way to get your car on TV (and thus get sponsorship for you and car) is to get the editors attention with do-or-die overtakes.
Despite coming nowhere this season in the results I do remember seeing him fly up the inside and outside at impossible angles and speeds at almost every race.... don't remember much about any other sub 5place finishers though.
Good on him I say, despite the fact I have to sit up and chew my finger nails everytime one of the leaders tries to lap or pass him in a hope he doesn't take them off a ruin the race :-)

Totally agree with you. Sergio Perez joining the team next year, so neither driver are going to be that experienced, but then again Kamui showed his more experienced team mates how to drive for most of this year. Good times for F1.mattikake said:

I don't see Hamilton's style as unacceptable, it adds to the excitement of the sport which lets face it needs it sometimes.mattikake said:

Hamilton's overtakes aren't "unacceptable" in general. It's just that some of his overtakes have resulted in unnecessarily punting off other drivers (eg. Monza 2008: passing Glock then retaking the racing line too early, pushing Glock onto the grass). The vast majority of his overtakes are fine though.Kobayashi, while an exciting overtaker, has also done some really dodgy moves, like his first pass on Alguersuari at Suzuka this season.

i know what you mean but I think he strikes a great balance between battling for position and leaving just enough room. He also massively outscored his team mate(s) this season. The only other driver to outscore their teammate to the same extent was Kubica.
