Just been looking at the website for the WS and it seems they have announced the calander for the 2011 season. Silverstones earlier this year than it was last year. So thinking of going again after the fun weekend in september. Even if the camping did slightly backfire haha.

Does anybody know when they start releasing the tickets?

I think I ordered my tickets in May/June time last year. May be wrong though.

Oh right thanks =)
Shall keep an eye out close to the time then.

Think we need to get the camping stuff better organised as well. Wasnt quite so good. Middle of september with just a sleeping bag wasnt such a great idea. Also we discoverd a few months afterwords we went all the way there without a first aid kit. D'oh!

I missed out on this last year due to helping out an F3 team at brands hatch, woe is me!

Looking to go this year so for those who have been what's it like?

I was there last year.
Camping was fine at Hamilton Fields .. nice tent full of food/drink .

Racing was good and everyone was out to have a nice time.

I camped here too and recommend it. An easy walk up to the track (30 minutes).

It was a great event with some good races. They get the Renault F1 car on the track for a few laps twice a day, which is pretty cool.

Sounds like a good weekend then, I've never camped at a race event is it worth it?
I'd have no idea where to start.

I sorted the camping through this site last year:
It also has some good information.

It's worth it if you're there for both days. From memory I think the campsite was about £25 a night, which is fine. There are a number of campsites in the area, some quite far away though

Happened to end up staying just outside Spa this weekend with nothing to do so have spent yesterday and spending today at the WS by R. And I have to say for a free event it's fantastic . . . value hehe

Not an F1 fan per se, but just to watch one come through Eau Rouge close to full chat is something everyone with petrol in their veins should witness. Then too watch it go through Eau Rouge the wrong way was quite funny.

First time at Spa and when we move to France we'll be coming back. Unfortunately the 1000kms is next weekend and I've gotta go back to UK as that's the event I'd really like to have watched. It's a bit like Mugello in the sense of sitting in the valley, just more trees here hehe

I've also read about the climb after Eau Rouge to Blachemont, but as ever the TV doesn't do it justice, a proper test of horse power and a long walk hehe
