Interesting and good driving by him - but I think you should declare your interest lest this looks like a link to your services?...

Oh, I see what you mean, the website link, just force of habit. If I was trying to plug my services I would have perhaps updated the website which I havent done for over 3 years, too damn busy

I had this happen to me in testing at Silverstone a couple of years back. The truck carrying the cars had got caught in traffic, and it was a bit of a hurry to get everything sorted while the track was dry, as the weather was looming a bit.
Jumped in the readily warmed up car, headed down the pitlane, opened it up, through the gears, went to hit the brakes for Becketts and BANG! All I could see was my sponsors logo written upside down across the, now broken, windscreen.
So after slamming on the brakes, crapping myself a bit and a short trip across the grass for cold tyres and not having a clue where I was going, I slackened off my belts, peered through the gap under the bonnet and drove gingerly back to the pits. As I approached our garage, all I could hear was my team boss screaming '20 f
king years of motorsport and I've NEVER had anything like this happen!! etc etc'.
I'm in the process of climbing out of the car, and my team boss still going off on one in the garage. All of a sudden he's stopped mid sentence and all there is to be heard is the characteristic thrum of a 997 race car on the pit limiter approaching. I've looked up the pit lane and it was my team mate, heading down the pit lane with his bonnet wrapped around the windscreen!
The only mistake the boys made in 2 years of running with them, but I don't think I'll ever stop taking the piss for that one!... In the same way they still take the piss for me driving past the pit board 5 times and running out of fuel... or the time I dropped it twice on the same corner, in the same race in the wet at Brands... or the time I nearly crashed into the pit wall at Brands...

He needs extra driving tuition, hitting the rev limiter at the start was not good either
It was his first time in the car and due to other small issues he only got 5 laps of free practice before quali. Having never rolling started this car I can let him off for that small error

I remember it happening to me in '93 - flat past the pits at Brands on my first flying lap in qually. I guess I'd be pulling heading for 100mph in the car at that time.
Called Autoglass out, they came out quickly, fitted a new screen, my crew "straightened" the bonnet, and I made my laps up at the end of the morning out of session. It's certainly a wake-up call!! Since then, I've always left the "safety catch" on my cars when they've had a steel bonnet - just in case the crew (or me) left the pins out/undone.
That left me with plenty of work to do starting from the back of a 30 car grid.

This one happened to a bloke on another forum I use.
It well and truly rang his bell, it almost knocked him out and he needed a new helmet!
