A great film, very evocative. The footage of Hailwood trying to rescue Regazzoni is pretty scary.

Showing my age here, 1975 and it was my second year in med school when I found my way down to a small cinema in Chelsea to watch the low-key premiere of this film which was then titled "One by One". At the time it seemed absolutely c**p and as a student I was keen to get my money back (which I didn't). Over the next few years the film was re-released as the equally awful "The Quick and the Dead" before moderating to "Champions Forever".

It's still c**p but of course the footage of those simple, brutally wonderful years now wins over....

..and attention to detail is not a strong point - in the opening sequence of a documentary on F1 the narrator talks about "these cars" whilst leaning on the back wing of an Indy Car....

Stacy Keach was much betterer as Sgt Stedenko in Up in smoke IMO.
