Hamilton to drive a NASCAR

Going to swap cars with Tony Stewart, will be interesting to see, if only for the sight of a modern F1 car going round the Glen.

I can't help but think that Button got the better deal by getting to drive a V8 supercar around Bathurst.

Surely McLaren will have to Americanize the cockpit of the F1 car. Crucially the McLaren will now feature Cruise Control, a cup holder, a slush box, a large faux leather padded seat and extensive travel on the suspension

Yes, I tend to agree. Bathurst is a seriously good track. Then again, Watkins Glen is better than any oval and will allow Hamilton to do his stuff.

Yes, obviously.

I was taking the liberty of expressing my preference. There must be lots of people who prefer steering in just one direction. My guess is that it's because the ancestors of the concept were born with one leg shorter than the other; a gait lent to running around in circles.

As for the comment about the steering wheel, I think BBS-LM was hinting at the complication of the many extra functions of an F1 wheel, rather than its ability to turn right as well as left! I expect Tony Stewart will have this prepared and optimised before he starts, since over a short distance, there is little need to use more than the most basic functions.

I could go into great detail about the early city to city races and the birth of race tracks. About how the first permenant race tracks were ovals. But I'd probably only get a mis-aimed whooshparrot aimed at me so a shan't bother.

I'll say this one thing though, I reckon NASCAR takes more concentration when in the pack than F1 does.
