Points are on offer for the first person who can identify:
1) Who the drivers were
2) The event
3) The car
and finally...
4) The circumstances which allowed the two drivers to stand in that particular spot after the race (extra points for this answer as I'd never believed it would happen)

Not quite Satsume, but yes: maximum points to Chevron.
According to Paul Frere's book, where I scanned the photo from:
[at the Reims 12 hours in 1958]... after 4 hours racing the dynamo packed up, fortunantly just before sunrise, and we had to change the battery at every pit stop. And to cap it all, nealry 2 hours before the end the toughened glass windscreen suddenly broke when I was doing 155mph on the straight. This meant a pit stop to remove all th splinters from inside the car and another to allow the mechanics to remove the rear window which, they thought, might be blown out by the air pressure. I was thus condemned to drive to the end in a rather stromy wind tunnel, which slowed the car quite a lot of the straight....
They won the race by a whole lap, and posed on the rear parcel shelf.
Cant imagine too many drivers (or marshalls, for that matter) letting them continue these days
