24 Hour Race at Catalunya in 2011 Entry €3500 including Fuel

This looks like a very interesting prospect and so much better value than Britcar in fact Britcar cant even compare with the value for money of this race
I will be taking a very serious look at this instead of doing the Britcar 24 as its a lot cheaper nicer weather no specialised fuel equipment required etc etc
€3500 entry fee with the fuel included and i bet they have better tyre prices too

The CREVENTIC organisation has taken over the promotion of the Barcelona 24 Hours in September, in conjunction with the RACC Automóvil Club, with the result that the race will now run to the same regulations as the 24H Dubai.
“The 24H of Barcelona are quite well-known," said CREVENTIC's Gerrie Willems. "In the past, there have been fields of up to 75 cars for that race. Of course, the Circuit de Catalunya is an excellent venue with facilities to Formula 1 standards and the region with the beautiful beaches and the city of Barcelona is one of Europe’s most popular destinations for holidays or short breaks. Being able to race there at the end of September is just fantastic and already now, many of the regular competitors in our events have expressed their interest in this race, which will now be part of our 24H SERIES. The entry fee for teams is only 3,500 Euros, including fuel. That is a very interesting proposition!”
The race has already attracted entries from several teams following the announcement.
Meanwhile, teams entering the 12H of Hungary this year are likely to enjoy the rather more clement weather that should accompany the race's move from October to May; “Keeping our October date would be too close to the 24H of Barcelona, which would prevent some teams from doing both races”, explained Willems. “Therefore, together with the Hungaroring management, co-operative as ever, we have found a new date, meaning that the 12H of Hungary will now be held on May 21st and 22nd. Practice sessions and qualifying will take place on Saturday, the race will be on Sunday. Teams can arrive on Friday evening or Saturday morning, so those who want can even make it a two-day event.”
The weekend of May 21/22 is quite a light one, sportscar-wise, with the main clash being the Blancpain Endurance Series race at Navarra.
Finally, the date for next year's 24H Dubai has been set as 12th-14th January.

Just reading up on the regs there and the first 6 tyres for all entrants are FREE with 25% Discount on all remaining tyres used and 50% off wets and €40000 in prize money for classified finishers

Should be a walkover for Schubert's BMW Z4, but there will be plenty of action through the field.
Creventic normally do quite a good job on timing, info tickers etc... so it'll be easy to keep track of the race (don't expect more than a single fixed webcam for video though)

Was a brilliant event! The GT3 BMW Z4 is a sight to behold.
I was out there with Intersport in my E36. The E46 had problems after the bonnet clips failed, causing the lid to flip and smash the screen. Sadly no spare so they were out after 4 hours. We finished, but down the order after some minor offs etc, but we had the pace to get 2nd in class..
