That was excellent, gives a good idea of the hard work that parents put into the sport as well. Also some good, hard fought but clean racing.

I agree; that is an outstanding film with some terrific racing. And just for once, the producer was happy to emphasise the friendships as much as the rivalries.

Excellent documentary. I remember back in 1997 seeing a Blue Peter documentary showing a young Lewis Hamilton.

There was a good article in Autosport last week about the costs of climbing the racing ladder and the difficulty of getting support at the moment. Even after pumping £100k plus into karting, the next step to single seaters is insane - £200k for a season in Formula Renault, then £500k-£750k for F3. IF you make it through all that and still have aspirations of Formula 1, you then need to find circa £2m for GP2!!!

That is a brill mini documentary. I love that he is sliding his kart around the family paddock.... looks amazing fun. Glad all went well though.

I read recently that Damon Hill has worked out that to get his son into F1 would cost £6m....£4m to get to GP2 + £2m to buy into a GP seat.
