Looking like a great season is about to kick off. . .
Media day was yesterday and the list of cars is impressive. Great chance to see the new Ferrari 458 Italia in GT3 spec, the SLS Merc, a brace of Aston's, two Porsche 997 GT3R's, a few Lotus Evora's and two R8's amungst others. . .
Season starts at Oulton Park on the 25th April, also on Channel 4 and Motors TV.

I have no doubt it will take time for those guys running the F458 to get to grips with it. I know the Scuderia took time to resolve the gremlins.
Presuming the balance of performance works there shouldn't be much in it, and as such it will come down to how well suited the two cars are to the Avon Tyres.
I'm interested to see the G55 on the grid as well, not sure where that stacks up in terms of legality, maybe they have a one make series lined up somewhere? Or maybe they have road cars built. . .dunno, either way this looks like a purpose built race car not a road going GT car liek many of the other GT3 cars on the grid, save for maybe the Viper.

Only one on Tuesday and I was in it 
We will be running two cars though for the season
Further to my earlier comments on the F430 vs F458 situation. Just read the report on (the excellent as always) DailySportscar site. None of the F458 ordered have yet been delivered and they suggest that Allan Simonsen will again be driving Hector Lester's F430 so I'd be very surprised it that car wasn't mixing it with some or all of the F458s.
I think Allan and Adam Wilcox will be quick in the F430 at the start of the season. When the MTECH and CRS boys get their hands on the 458 then I expect Matt Griffin and Glyn Geddie to be quick, those boys were always fighting last year so would be interesting to see them line up against each other in simlar cars. I'd suggest though that CRS were better placed to get to grips with the 458 before MTECH.

Suspect I will be but might not get up there early enough!It amuses me that in all of the years that I have loved BGTs of all types there is always at least one car (usually British
) each season which has been the source of disquiet. As I wasn't there I can't say that you must have been mistaking a G50 or that the G55 was just in the paddock 
so I'll reserve judgement on if the G50/G55 series is one make and if you could buy a road going version with sufficient folding.Without a copy of the regulations at hand and any knowledge I must retreat to my musings.
Will try to get time to catch-up before Monday evening!

Fourth year in a row for me to watch the British GT at Oulton and this was easily the best. Fantastic grid of cars and a great line up of drivers. Both races were enthrauling and a magnificent spectacle. There were so many twists and turns that the podiums were changing right up until the last few laps of each race. Well done British GT, you've really got the formula right this year.
