Hi all,

Did anyone watch the Britcar race at the weenend? How did Danny/Steve get on? And how come Andy or Tim weren't running their sags?

Danny and steve were doing brilliantly, I think they may have been P2 or P3 overall at one point before slipping back. Danny was simply on fire.

unfortunately they were forced to retire quite close to the end with gearbox issues.

Henry and I came 6th overall and second in class. Sam came 10th overall with the new driver Kyle Tilley and 3rd in clas after the Viper ended up being disqualified for ( unknown to me) technical infringement. They had an issue with a damper which as well as slowing them down cost them a few laps to replace.

Going to do a piece with Danny on the GTF.

Steller drive from young DW, apparently Martin Short and the £300K Mosler were holding him up in some corners!!!

Great to hear DW was on typical form! Good result for Owen etc too!

So how come the other sags weren't racing?

I'm waiting for dampers to come back from a rebuild so I can get the car on the dyno and remapped for the new exhaust system. Then need to test to get a set up for the new dampers. I'm also short of a suitably experienced and funded driver or two.

Edited to add - well done to those racing. Haven't caught up on all performances yet but it sounds like Danny has shown the potential of Steve's car. Tuscan old boys Rod, Jan and Jay also did superbly in their new 997, taking a class pole and win.

Yeah Danny was superb, he drove brilliantly and it was a pleasure to have him and the family as part of our Team for the weekend. There's no question that our Winter developments have been a success and indeed the potential of my car is there for all to see - Well done to Tim, Terry and the Team for building and preparing such an amazing car! Thanks to all those who came and supported us and said hello, it makes a difference having enthusiastic TVR fans supporting our efforts. All the best,
Steve

P.S. - Andy, I'm not really sure that my car is a GTF as such, given that Tim and Terry built it using an original TVR factory Sagaris shell?

Just to say thaks also from my self and Danny (who doesn't post or read pistonheads)to all the team, and Steve for offering Danny the chance to take part in Britcar, the team are a great bunch of guys who work well together and have built a seriously quick car,Danny said it is a great car to drive.

The start of the race was very exciting 10th on the grid to 7th in the first corner and then reeling the two Lambo's and Ferraris in, at about lap 8 he had pulled out a 5 second lead over the rest of the class 2 and class 3 cars lapping a good 2 seconds a lap faster.

Great experience for him and thanks once again.
