New Website

Hi All,

I am very pleased to announce that the new Dunlop TVR European Championship website has just gone live!

Huge thanks to Graham Walden and Tony Crockford (Boldfish) for the layout and converting my naff mock up into reality.

Thanks to Charlie and Iain at Intracar for sponsoring the Calendars and everyone that bought one or in some cases many, it was these that funded the build.

Thanks to George Carter for the use of his images and a slightly embarrassed bow from me for content and images.

It is really easy for me to amend most of it so if you spot any errors please let me know.

Well Done Mal. Although im not involved anymore this was one of my major bugbears and one I struggled to get sorted. I think it represents the championship very well indeed.

view: The section on how to put your race car back together again???????

Actually Dan that would make a good article, if you have loads of pics of taking yours apart and putting it back together, we'll write one when you've finished


Now we have the website, if any of you have any content we can add, please let myself or Mal have it, it could be anything. how you did something, what your first race was like, how you got involved in the challenge from say a non nracing side, a spectators view...etc etc a how to article..

One more thanks from me guys, the website looks fantastic. As I've always said, if there's anything I can help with, please get in touch!

When I get around to finishing my new points book, that can probably go up there in some form - It will include all results from previous years (when I get around to putting them in) so you can compare lap times etc from season to season. The frame of it is about 90% done but it hasn't been a priority I must admit!

What a great job - well done guys

I especially enjoyed the race reports - it's one aspect where all participants can easily make the effort to email a line or two afterwards to describe their racing. It needn't be war and peace either, as even a few well chosen words ( ) can help make a great article when they're collated and an article cobbled together by Mal and/or Chris. Be good to get this done a.s.a.p. afterwards to try and make the Autosport deadline too - its in our hands.

Will need to happen this year, I will be doing reports for the Website and for magazines and probably be doing the reports for Sprint, this will be coupled with taking pictures and being around the paddock more so will be looking for driver input, the article for Oulton was in my opinion one of the best because I was able to bring together loads more veiwpoints.

As Keith says even making the effort to come and tell me you lost it and recovered it at the new corner will help, George and I can only be in two places and without noting that driver A was behind driver B and then suddenly has dropped 4 spots we dont know who to come and interview.

We can all make this a series to be proud of

I knew I should have mentioned this at Oulton...

You OBVIOUSLY missed my stellar move when I threw it up the inside of Steve Guglielmi AND Mike Saunders at Shell to take the lead on the first lap from 7th on the grid. Classic move with just the slightest of paint swapped as I glanced Steves Championship winning Tuscan. Mike was easy as he was unsighted by Steve...

Ofcourse I the dropped it at the chicane defending the pair whio ganged up on me, with Mike punting me off with a rear quarter tap. Racing incident. Recovered to 5th

Shame you missed it...

No there is'nt one on there so you havent missed it. There has been a lot of discussion about a seperate forum and the decision for the moment (this season at least) is that there wont be one. The yahoo group works pretty well and there is of course here. The anticipated problem is that with too many options the content will be dilluted and people will not be able to find stuff.

So here for all positive stuff,updates and requests for help and info and the yahoo group for anything contentious or potentially embarrasing to the series is the way to go for now.

The other factor in the decision was partly cost based. The calendar sales paid for the website, and the designer and Graham did a huge amount of work for what we paid them. A forum would have cost an awful lot more.
