I've come across this image a couple of times, but no idea who it is, where or when?

Any clues?

That's Schumi's F399 that Frits Kroyman split in the Clienti event at the 2004 Monterey Historics. He was a little bruised but walked away.

It's not F1.

It's a rich man who had an F1 car altered. Badly. I guess it was in EuroBOSS or similar.

I knew someone here would have the answer. Thanks.

He was lucky to be able to walk anywhere after that!

They aren't the same car.

The top picture is chassis #193 raced by Schumacher in Brazil, San Marino and France then used as a T-car before at some point being sold to Kroymans.

The bottom picture is chassis #192 which Schumacher broke his leg in when he crashed at Silverstone.

I seem to recall that there was some talk that as Kroymans was very tall the chassis had been cut and stretched to enable him to get in.

Italian driver called Fabrizzio Barbazza in American sports car accident at Road Atlanta in 1995. He was very badly injured and the accident ended his driving career.

In 1995, while racing a Ferrari 333SP sports prototype at the Road Atlanta circuit, he was involved in an accident with Jeremy Dale, which resulted in heavy head and chest injuries which left him in critical condition, in a coma and on artificial respiration. Although he fully recovered, he didn't return to racing. Instead he started a go-kart circuit in Monza and began designing crash barriers.

Anyone here watch 'Extreme Fishing' with Robson Green on Channel 5???

He went on a jolly in a boat in Cuba, I think, catching Marlin.

His companion on the boat was...

Fabrizio Barbazza!

(He still has the crazy hair - makes him look like 'Doyle' from The Professionals...)

Yep, owns(?) Avalon flyfishing which operates most of the saltwater flyfishing in Cuba under licence from the Cuban Govt.

Thanks for the replies. Two mysteries cleared up.

Fabrizzio has apparently recently taken up go-karting again, which is a good effort.

Incidentally the other car involved (the car that hit him) was Jeremy Dale

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Dale_(racecar_...

Who also survived, but finished his driving career and went into commentary then management.

It's a real horror crash isn't it? Looks like well over 100mph and into the side of a stationary car. Amazing that it wasn't more serious.
