Four days to go till the btcc kicks off again at thruxton. Some news so far is that hughes toyota will miss the event due to a steering issue but will be back at oulton with lea wood in his integra. Rob austin will be doing more testing ahead of the race to improve the power and other problems its likely that pinkney should be racing it instead of rob but only 1 audi will race. All turbo cars are given a reduction of 0.1 bar of boost to bring down the gap between ngtc and s2000 engines.
I will be spectating as i have always done for the last 4 years just got my tickets can't wait just hope the racing is as close as donnington without the accident.
So we down to 22 cars for thruxton but should be back up to 24 when hughes returns and lea wood aswel. I think we will see 30 cars on the grid by the end of the year.

BTCC paddock/pit access depends on the circuit - some allow "access all areas" with a standard ticket (e.g. Donington), some require an extra ticket (e.g. Thruxton) and at others it's teams and guests only (e.g. Brands). It's usually a question of space - at Brands, for example, the BTCC paddock is located behind the pits in the centre of the circuit, and it's a tight fit.

I will probably be there somewhere as well as the chicane at the end of the lap gets too busy unless you get there really early! I might watch race 1 from the first corner though as its good to see the cars really working through a fast corner!Heathwood said:

Any tips on good viewing spots for best action?
My tip is get there early for the best spot it can build up very quickly. Theres only banking around 60% of the track. It goes from the last chiacane which is a good spot to watch the cars jumping over the curbs and normaly good action as the cars are coming down from the back straight but as very little banking due to the grandstands. The first corner is good to see the cars go flat out and the banking is usualy quieter than the right, left, right section from cambell, cobb and segrave which is where the best action is found especially on the first lap but its very busy and packed due to the popularity. Theres new banking going to noble but im not sure if it open yet. Any tips on good viewing spots for best action?
As for the day take plenty of food and drink as the food on sale if expensive. Out of the last 5 years ive been going down it never rained and has been hot and sunny so take sun cream and wear hats as you will burn very easy. I normaly take a small tent so if it rains you can shelter from it or if its hot can shelter and you can put all your stuff init if you want to vist the paddock. Be preapered for delays going out of the circuit.
If you see a tent with a chequred flag and welsh flag on it down at cambell it me.

Cheers. I be meeting up with a mate of ours in newport so if you want to travel down with us your more than welcome. Im not sure what time we will be meeting but around 7.15-7.30 normally to get too thruxton by 9. I think racing starts around 10 but not 100% sure. Im from blackwood by the way. Driving down from Cardiff, so a nice early start and in before the masses sounds like the best plan.
