Because I always seem to be busy or asleep when the F1's on the telly (and hence have to miss out on all the live tweets) I made this:

In a nutshell, it records tweets from people I think are entertaining during a race and plays them back in time with the race when you're ready to watch it on iPlayer / SKY+ / Freeview+ / whatever.

Disclaimer: I pay for the hosting for this, and there's no ads or any other way for me to make money from it. It's just a little personal project for me to use play with techy stuff

Also, the feed for Turkey qualifying and the race will go live as soon as the BBC coverage starts, so you'll be able to use tweetgp even if you're only 10 minutes behind (that's the theory at least.. )

Fantastic idea - I virtually have to turn Twitter off over the weekends because I'm at some circuit or other & have a dozen odd races recording/to download.

There's no secret -- all I'm doing is sucking some data out of the public-facing Twitter programming interfaces - see http://dev.twitter.com. There's a bit of magic in storing and playing it back, but nothing a half-decent web developer couldn't copy with a bit of effort.

I wrote a blog post about it all here. (be warned though, it's geeky and probably rambles on a bit much)

It's a brilliant concept - and probably applicable to quite a lot of other stuff aside from the GP.

Imagine the possibilities in the US, where sport and TV audiences are much bigger and lots of people attend the event, but record it AND watch it back on TV?
