DRS in Quali

Can the drivers use the DRS at any point during a quali lap or just in the DRS zone (or not at all)?

I was surprised not to hear/read anything about it after the race, but I confess I didn't look for it, or watch the F1 forum afterwards.

Technical malfunction which would've given him no advantage if I recall, so they haven't penalised him.
