Gotta admit, the Polo does look good as a WRC car. Wonder if this means there'll be a 300bhp 4WD version for the road? Would certainly spice things up a bit!

Looks excellent it must be said.

It's a shame they don't have to make a homologation special to compete really, the Fiesta WRC especially would be stunning on the road if it had 4WD and 300bhp like the rally car.

That looks better than the mini thats for sure. Its about time the wrc got more cars and manafactures. Hopefully the wrc can get back to what i remember of the good days of the early 00s with 6-7 manafactures.

At last this has been confirmed, but it is such a shame we have to wait until 2013 to see one in action weeping

Great news for the WRC - a big budget Manufacturer joining - who could potentially blow Citroen/Ford out of the water. Is there one final challenge left for Loeb? If so, this could be it.

The points made by other posters are now unrealistic. It's far too expensive to build a 'Homologation special' - which is why the WRC regs were brought in in 1997. Though I have sympathy with their points - it would be nice to see road going versions of the WRCars. Only BMW-Mini have a similar car with their Mini-Countryman.....
