Manchester to Surrey - suggestions for the scenic route?

I’m staying in Manchester on Thursday and would like to drive some nice roads on the way back to Surrey ( Guildford )

It’ll be a good opportunity to see how my mk8 GTi Clubsport performs before a Black Mountain weekend in 10 days.

Any suggests of road / route appreciated, thanks
