Been off the road for 12 years, which was the last time I posted it on here I think.
Needed a couple of jobs for MOT but still on Sorn due to weather. Was going to use it during the summer but weather stopped play then as well.
Here’s to next Spring.

A blast from the past.

I remember my Uncle having to choose between one of these and a Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo. cloud9

I recall how impressed I was with a drive in a Maestro turbo back in the day.
The green is a lovely colour.

Does this have the talking dash?

I just love how older cars look now. Even cars I don’t really like back then somehow look utterly cool now. Looks in great condition!

No, the talking dash was only on the early MG Maestro 1600 I think

I didn't have a lot of love for BL products back in the day, but that has aged wonderfully and looks fabulous to my eyes.

Love the colour too!

I had thoroughly good fun back when they were new driving my mates montego turbo. A complete blast. Then sunrise he put it on its roof and spoiled our fun!

Mind you my BX 16v was fab as well at the time.

I had E60 FDX as a company car back in 1988, I had a budget of £10k to spend so got an ex demo MG Montego Turbo in red. The torque steer was amazing but I loved that car
I was working for a London based property developer & our fleet of yuppie company cars included an XR3i, Renault 5 Turbo & Golf GTi 16v.

A fantastic looking thing in this day and age. What are your plans for it (aside from sensibly waiting until spring to use it..)

I remember borrowing one from work to run some errands. 1st time in a turbo car, put my foot down coking out of a turn and ended up on the wrong side of the road. Much respect after that!

My parents had a Montego that used to speak.

My sister and I used to ask them to make it say something, especially to show it off to friends being given a lift. I can remember a female voice announcing messages about seat belts and doors.

I’m not sure of the trim or year but it would have been the fast model of the time (always was for both of them) and late 80s (during my latter years at primary school). It was also green but don’t recall it being metallic like yours is, which looks really good. My father wouldn’t have wanted to spend money on paint!
