Ford Fiesta ST MK8 PE
Discussion
Hi guys, here’s my latest purchase.

Close to 69k miles, 3 previous owners (2 of whom I’ve discovered on the FB owners group, and consequently found out the original owner passed away). I was originally looking at a MK7 but, I opted to pay a bit more a month, and have something more comfortable with more tech. It’s in good condition for its mileage, just the usual stone chips. It has a milltek GPF back exhaust and a Maxton design spoiler extension. It does have a small clunking noise from the steering when parking at low speeds, luckily I’d researched this before buying and I’m basically not going to do anything about it as it’s just a thing a lot of MK8s do. I’ve seen people get new steering racks and it hasn’t solved the issue, and it doesn’t affect the steering so it should be fine.
Coming from an i20N this is head and shoulder above it in pretty much every way apart from tech in my opinion. If you want to view my previous car history of mostly hot hatches and a 1.2 Fiesta see my previous thread.

Love the colour and wheels on these ones. Looks good bud, any further modification plans?
If I do anything else it will be an air filter/induction kit and that will probably be it. I’ll be looking to buy some decent floor mats soon as I only have the front 2. Needs a machine polish as well at some point as the swirls are really noticeable in the sunlight. CarlosSainz100 said:
The thieves love these so I'd get a ghost and/or a steering lock as well
I will be adding some security to it but I see people on owners groups go over the top which I won’t be doing. My general attitude is at the end of the day it’s a car and it’s insured, though I will be taking more preventative measures than I have with any other car including my MK7 ST I owned. Terrible car's and in a hideous colour
Only joking i love my PE very much and have had a lot of fun with it in the below .

The colour isn’t for everyone, I do like it a lot but I do slightly wish it was a deeper orange.

Appreciate that, I’ve followed your topic for when I’m actually on here haha.
So it’s been a while since I was last on here. Life just gets in the way and I don’t spend a huge amount of time on forums or social media apart from some casual scrolling here and there.
Due to the wet, now cold weather and nights drawing in earlier I haven’t done a huge amount of road trips or anything with it. Since I got it I replaced all 4 tyres with OEM size Michelin PS5s and had the torque mount replaced. My most notable recent trip was over Dartmoor which was nice but honestly isn’t really challenging enough for the ST. Anytime I get a fun twisty road at the moment it’s rare that it’s clear for me to exploit the performance, which is frustrating but not a surprise really. At the end of January I’ll be hoping to stay near Exmoor and revisit some of the roads I drove in my i20N. Later on in the year I plan on heading to Snowdonia, which will be my first time in North Wales. I hope 2026 brings everyone some great drives.

Since the last time I posted here, we’ve had interesting weather conditions, a sprinkling of snow over a few days, then ice, then multiple storms, so not much driving done during the start of 2026 until a couple of weeks ago where I spent a very wet weekend in and around Exmoor.

This meant driving some great roads such as the A39. The sun did pop out for about an hour but for the most part it was very wet with lots of surface water, which made spirited driving challenging. I’ve done some of the B roads around Exmoor before when I owned my i20N, it was a lot sunnier and drier then so I’m looking forward to going back again in warmer temperatures.
Instead of heading on the M5 home, I took the more interesting A roads back to Exeter, these roads unfortunately had a lot of standing water, getting worse the closer I got to Crediton where it basically had become flooded. There were also quite a few potholes that could’ve caused damage had I not noticed them, so a lot of caution had to be exercised. Overall though it was a fun weekend of driving and it was nice to stretch the ST’s legs.

A stop off in Lynmouth for Sausage and chips.
Since then I fitted new front and rear wipers for Bosch Aerotwins as I wasn’t happy with the effectiveness of what was on there originally. I’ve also had the car valeted by a friend, I had cleaned it after the snow and ice to get the salt off but I was in need of something better than I can do. Unfortunately I haven’t actually taken any photos of the car being clean or the new wipers.
I have recently come to the conclusion that I don’t think I’d sell or trade this car unless it was for a low mileage blue Fiesta ST Edition, but it would seem a pointless thing to do just because I like the colour blue. I also recently was driven in my dads MK7.5 Golf, which did lead me to look at GTIs and Rs, but I know they’d be boring in comparison to the ST, so maybe that’s something I’ll look into more if I ever feel like I don’t need the sharp steering response that the ST provides. For now though, I just need to focus on the Fiesta (no pun intended) and just enjoy it.

Had some fun with this X5 over the A39. Picture taken of the view by my gf.
