Lupo GTI Jap Import
Discussion
Hi All, thought it was time to start this off. I've now owned this fab little car for just over a year and have spent the last year bringing it up to speed, starting to get there now, so here goes.
Being no stranger to VW GTI's in one shape and another, i'd never got round to owning one of these and after setting the draught up with a lupo 1.4 sport 100 bhp for her first car, it sparked my interest in owning the GTI. So while looking for one, it became apparent it would probably need to be an import to get the right starting point. I managed to find just the car, freshly imported and ready to be tweeked.
Its not perfect, the paint does need a couple of areas looking at and that remains on the list, so any recommendations on that front would be appericated. After a bloody good clean and check over, it proved to be the car i thought it was, a very standard original car, with barely any corrision anywhere, ideal.
After a few trips out last summer i'd soon made my mind up which way i wanted to go, improved on but still standard appearance, uprated brakes, suspension upgrade, full top to bottom service.
To date i've completed the following;
Bilstein B12 ProSport Kit
Whiteline RARB
H&R FARB
Blackdiamond Front and Rear disc plus braided lines
Wheel refurb
K&N filter
Full Belt and Pump service and timely too as still on originals
Replaced speedo inlay
Still waiting on new 15mm spacers, K-Bar and Strut Brace plus OMP 330 Steering wheel, so decided it was time to detail ready for the summer.
Full detailing completed so will post once completed the next installments
Hope to see you out there , say hello if you spot me
the day it arrived

Ah, interesting, I didn't know they were sent to Japan. My Panda 100HP has just been written off, and one of these was an option I considered as a replacement, but I went with a Renaultsport Twingo instead.
I find the Japanese size plates look a little odd when the car has the recesses for a normal UK plate, my understanding was that even with an import, if a normal plate can fit, that's what you're meant to use.
