I finally have a car I feel is worth posting about..

Our old dog car was written off last month..

Day of collection..

It does need some work, this is how it currently stands.

So far we have replaced the stupid side repeaters
Removed stickers
Removed the black paint from the 'exhaust' tips in the bumper
Plain matching plates
4 new tyres - fairly sure the rear tyres were the original tyres...

To do list:
Brakes (ordered - pads and rear discs haven't arrive yet)
Clutch
Full service
Fix 'chavy' exhaust
Refurb wheels
Fix lacquer peel

Always thought these were nice.

Unusual in red too.

More common in blue or white

Always good to see a fast estate. I like the look of these, really interested to see how you get on.

Very much a fast estate in the mould of a T5 - subtle and underrated

Looks great. From memory the seats are lovely in these. How are they looking? How many miles has it done.

The key for these is regular oil changes with the GM dexos 2 oil. I’d be going every 1 year 5k miles due to the timing chain.

The seats are lovely and in great condition! It has done 78000 miles. Regular oil changes are the plan, just been collecting all the parts. The front disks arrived the other day!

Are they the OEM brakes? They look very serious.

Its a funny old place pistonheads, the day-to-day humble diesel/petrol Insignia, or any Vauxhall come to think of it gets a torn a new a-hole on here usually, but if its got a big POWWWWWEERRR engine, its amazing! wink

Personally love the look of the Insignia as a whole, great bit of design, bit like the older 9-3 wagon. Aged very well and make very good looking estates cars, looks great OP - just wish I could stomach the VED on these, but its all relative of course.

You have to remember that many on PH can't see further than VAG/BMW/Audi i.e. brand snobs. With the exception of the 1.8 petrol, Insignias are pretty good cars and I think most of the hate for them originates from that 1.8.

This is a cool car and a good choice by the OP.

Nice car but IMO, if the aim is to de-chav it you also need to lose the wind deflectors!

I agree but they are also handy for the dogs..

The clutch is booked for Monday and the rear disks and pads are getting delivered today.
