With the ST150 project just about finished, me and the boy looking for something to play with. I hear this has been done before.

This Kuga came our way for not a lot of money, well used but well loved too, loads of service history but 207k.
Its a manual 2.5T, the 5 cylinder Volvo derived engine and AWD.

Apparently pretty much all bolts into a Focus shell, which I have a few of, well dead ones, obviously would need suspension lower, or build an off road Focus.

Thinking more stripped out track car than an actual rep.

Anyone done anything like it, if so, what are the big hurdles to jump ?

I recall a guy in Malta offered this some years back, although this may help as a starter:

Thank you, had a quick read, and it has put me off, but will reas it all and decide, especially the MK3 shell seeming easier.

Could you not make an Rally/"RS" Kuga from it?

I suppose so, but unless it is for off road a bit pointless. ?

Was thinking more track day toy. But looking more complicated than I want to take on.

Thinking one of those banger challenges now, get some fun out of it, I have the invoice from Ford to prove it makes the price limit.

You could make a Kuga track day car.

I hadn't realised that they made a Kuga with that engine.

That ain't appealing tbh, the engine went in the Mondeo too.

If the ST behind it wasn't such a low miles ones and suffering rust, misuse, would do that for track.

It was the first thought with the ST150 builders van when I got it, but digging into it and it was way to good, so it got the royal treatment back to original.
