The new(ish) family bus - 2020 Skoda Kodiaq L&K
Discussion
We have had for the last 4 years a 2011 XC90 D5 R-Design doing the family bus duties,Me, the wife, 2 kids (14,4) and 2 "large" dogs. Sometimes even requiring a roof box! like at Christmas. We now have a 3rd kid who comes with more baggage and a pram.

200ps D5 (215ps with Polestar tune), old school automatic meant it was quite agricultural to drive, combined with engine mounts starting to fail and rubber hoses starting perish, it was time to move on! Shame really I enjoyed the old tank despite it being slow and heavy. Kinda car you can take anywhere and not worry about it.
It mainly does the school run, so diesel not ideal, so I started looking at MK2 XC90 but realised they were above budget for a decent one and I wanted a T6 or B6 with a certain spec and interior which made them rare.
I then started looking at Mercedes Vito and Volkswagen vans that might suit us better but once again budget crept in and realised there wasn't much out there that wasn't diesel.
Next door neighbours have a SEAT Tarraco, years ago I used to work with SEAT UK/SEAT Sport ES and actually went to the Tarraco launch, at the time I had a 981 Cayman S and said I'd never be seen dead in a car like that........ how times have changed.
Most of my family has the VAG 1.5TSI lump in their cars, the neighbours Tarraco is 1.5TSI, decided pretty quickly I wanted the 2.0TSI and I also wanted leather, 360 camera etc which meant I was looking for quite a unique car, there was actually none for sale in the spec I wanted, so I broadened the search to include the Skoda Kodiaq and found 2 for sale! 1 local to me at a dodgy garage and 1 further away at a garage with good reviews!
So here's the new family bus, a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq (7 seat) 2.0 TSI 190PS Laurin & Klement in petrol blue.

The L&K gets a few things over SE L and Sportline, such as;
L&K leather heated seats *
Canton 10 way sound system
Panoramic sunroof
Active 360 camera system
Dynamic chassis control
Air cooled glovebox
Unfortunately AI (Gemini) tricked me into thinking the car would also have digital cockpit, air con cooled seats and a heated steering wheel! The aircon seats weren't standard on UK spec cars and the other 2 bits weren't fitted to all the L&K cars unfortunately.
Because its come through BCA, we have some Skoda service history, then nothing until the selling third party dealer has serviced it before sale. We have no way of knowing if the DSG and Haldex have been completed so they are on my to do list along with a few more things.
I still have access to OBD Eleven professional for VAG so coded a few things in.

I've got Erwin myself as used to work with SEAT Sport, first thing I did haha, but thanks for the offer.
Shame it didn't have the other bits such as heated steering wheel, digital cockpit and aircon seats. I will retrofit the digital cockpit at somepoint.

Nice. I didn't realise they did these in the 2.0 petrol. I had the 1.5 as a hire car a few years ago and was really impressed with it - great family bus.
The 1.5 is not a bad engine, just didn't think it suited a car this heavy. Because I also never own standard cars, this will be going to Racingline sometime soon. So a list of things I want/need to do
1- Haldex service, due at 30k
2- DSG service, due at 40k
3- Racingline OEM+ engine and DSG remap
4- Digital clocks
5 - Wireless charging retrofit and wireless Android Auto
6- Paint brake calipers black and hubs on discs, these are rusty at the moment
7- Fit VRS/Sportline black grill - think I have scrapped this idea as its a bumper off job and not cheap.
First job was to fit a new L&K side badge, as the driver side one was coming off, not cheap at like £32 each.

The Volvo had a 6 digit plate on it when we bought it so we have kept this simply because the wife can remember it. Which means we can run shorter plates as well. I've blurred the reg as we have had issues in the past with cloned plates.
