I retired and thus handed back my Defender five weeks ago and have been using my mum’s old smart ForTwo to get around. I’ve actually grown quite fond of it - its slow but so, so easy to park and thread through traffic.

The plan was always to treat myself to something a little bit more fun, and possibly a little bit faster. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my earlier thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... - some great suggestions, but it will probably come as no surprise that I collected this earlier today

An Aqua Blue 2013 2.7 981 Boxster. In a sea of black / white / grey / silver Boxsters it grabbed my attention.

I’ll post some more photos later, but I’m off to the pub right now!

That looks excellent, I hope the pub's miles away, and I hope you're only drinking cola.

Happy retirement.

I've been giving serious thought to something similar. Hope it treats you well and you have lots of good times in it.

Still some good weather out there, ideal for pootling around top down.

Excellent choice to buy a car in an actual colour rather than the usual sea of grey/black/silver monotony

Enjoy

It looks great. I agree they all seem to be black and silver the ones I see out and about.

My intended retirement present will be a little more agricultural and somewhat slower....

Awwww… you lot are the best love

Thanks for all the positive comments.

My local had been closed all week for a refresh. Opened at 6pm today and they’d worked bloody hard to get it looking so good. And they had Timmy T’s Landlord on as a guest which is one of my absolute faves…

As promised, some more photos. If you remember my ‘burning tree’ post it makes a guest appearance..l never did get to the bottom of what happened,

As well as not being one of the popular exterior colours, you’ll see it doesn’t have a black interior. Crazy times.

Absolutely gorgeous, and a great choice.

My friend has one which we fitted a new roof to in the week. The want is strong…

Just look at it cloud9

Perfect - I hate monochrome paint and much prefer any colour interior to black!

I also went colourful for my 981; Guards Red.

They are lovely cars - enjoy!

I am VERY jealous of your colour matched roll over hoops. They really make a difference to the overall look.
