A year of ownership ...

Well had the R32 for a year now.

Thought I would mention that yesterday had it's first MOT whilst in my possession and all good a full service and MOT and only cost £287.87. That and some Michelin Pro Sport 3's and tracking cost £589.05, so pretty pleased all round.

Nothing out the ordinary little niggles were resolved throughout the year. Nothing costly the most expensive part of the car is running it. As MOT on 14th May 2010 mileage 47493 and 10th May 2011 reading is now 64629. Therefore have done 17136 miles this year!!! and petrol prices being what they are it's not good.

But hey your only young once and fortunately I have a job even if it's over a 70 mile a day commute I don't mind as I get a rye smile ever morning when I turn the key, then the twisty roads leading to the motorway and the the B roads to the office. (I have Radio 2 with me all the way, listening to a petrolhead in the morning is always entertaining).

Awesome as far as I'm concerned as in the twisty roads alot of fun and corners are fun as are roundabouts. As for the motorway you can be as lazy as you want or be as fun as you want, that's to say that if your in 6th gear and want to overtake just push the pedal and glide on past, or drop down a gear or two and be a little more spirited.

It's practical too large boot for several sets of golf clubs, large roof for surfboards and five doors for friends in the back. So ideal suits my requirements to a T.

I was living in Sweden and had a 4motion golf when these came out , took a test drive with a salesman which turned into a pretty fun hour , they are fantastic fun cars

Yes all 4 and tracking and with nitrogen. Moral of the story is don't buy tyres whilst hungover just said yes to all their up selling

Very nice Tom. Thought I recognised a few of the pictures- fellow Wintonian. I have been thinking about an R32 for the last few months to replace my 328 Sport daily hack. Pretty much settled on a Mk5 GTI with fuel prices etc, but I often run past yours (lovely house by the way) and it gets me thinking again! Interesting to hear you have found it so reasonable to run.
