Picked it up on Friday. It needs a bit of work but I'm sure once everything is done it will be great on track, a big improvement on the front wheel drive celica. It was an entertaining drive home when I picked it up, very solid handling and brakes and plenty of noise. Feels like its down on power for some reason, not sure what that could be.

Some scrote pinched my Brompton from the station which put a bit of a downer on matters. I put it in the usual place but didn't notice all the CCTV cameras pointing towards the sky.

A mate came around in his 2002, lovely looking car. Don't ask me any details on it, I haven't a clue.

Looks very mean indeed! Have you any shots of the interior? If there are just a pair of buckets in there, then very nice indeed!

Dash is all there apart from a space for a std radio. Front seats are buckets, front carpet and door/roof linings are all there. Its a nice place to sit basically, look behind though and everything is gone.

I stripped everything out in the celica on a weight reduction mission (dash, heating, vents, etc) and I don't fancy doing that again. I'd like to model this one on a 997GT3 club sport.

Something along those lines smile what a seriously badass car. Is it road legal?

Yes, MOT so Road legal. Plan is to drive to circuits and back hopefully.

Exhaust is a bit loud, not sure what the legality is on that.

Sounds similar to this

I'm sure it's effective but the clash of painted and unpainted panels looks like a cheapo DIY accident repair.

The black bits are carbon fibre, except the roof is a vinyl wrap. The orange is a wrap as well, original colour is silver. It is a Catd, light rear drivers side apparently. Its not perfect but thats what I want, after a couple of years with the celica I have been lucky and only had a light touch with a barrier.

Absolutely love it. Even the mismatched carbon black/bright orange.
Would love to know the spec...

I can't take any credit for it, just took off a load of advertising and cleaned it.

Original advert:-
Stunning E46 M3 fast road/track car with fantastic spec .A real headturner wherever it goes.
This car has recently had a huge amount of high quality modifications fitted to it at great expense and due to a change in my plans has not turned a wheel in anger.

The car started out as a 2001 M3 with SMG 2 gearbox. It is, believe it or not, a silver car underneath but has been expertly wrapped in orange vinyl ,and was used as promotional vehicle by a BMW styling company who were going to do track days and sprints etc with it. hence the logos.
They never actually got round to that and I bought in late 2010 with the same intention. Incidentally the vinyl wrap can be easily removed or changed

Full Spec is as follows

2001 BMW E46 M3 71,000 MILES road registered

Interior

stripped out completely from front seats back including boot

2 Sparco 2000 Race seats new

sabelt full harness new

central locking, alarm and immobiliser still operational.

Real Carbonfibre interior trim on dash, doors, gearstick and wheel new

Dash has been left intact but stereo removed .,Heating system and Air con still fitted- and ice cold or really warm as required

Exterior

Genuine carbonfibre bonnet wth louvres new

CSL style front spoiler in GRP with carbonfibre fins new

Genuine carbonfibre side grilles new

Genuine carbonfibre wider front grilles &badges new

Genuine carbonfibre front wings new

Genuine carbonfibre mirrors new

Genuine carbonfibre CSL style boot new

carbonfibre effect wrapped roof with working ESR

76mm custom exhaust with carbonfibre diffuser

360mm Disc 6 pot XYZ braking system on front new

360mm Disc 4 pot XYZ braking system on rear new

KW Variant 3 coilover adjustable suspension front and rear new

BBS CH racing wheels - not the normal BBS road wheels fitted with
continental contact 3 tyres- fronts 235x 35x 19 rears 265x 30x 19 hardly used

ALL IN ALL AN AMAZING CAR The various extras and all the work have probably amounted to nearly £20,000 in addition to original car Engine has not been modified so probably giving 350 bhp. Could easily be chipped to increase this but the handling and braking along with the weight reduction are the key areas where this will prove an incredible track day car.

Looks awesome! should be good fun. If it was mine i would be tempted to carry the black stripe onto the wing in orange to match the rubstrip.
