Honda S2000....finally.

After many months of wanting a Honda S2000 I finally took the plunge.
I looked at a car nearly two years ago, but the angel in my head talked me into buying my first house instead!
2yrs of watching the classifieds (and boring house stuff) I came across this example and picked her up on Saturday.
2005 S2000 GT.
Not managed to get any good pics yet as I have been too busy tearing up somerset B roads
Whats is like so far: (2days, 3 washes, £80 fuel!)
PROS:
Off VTEC its tame and easy round town, but then take it to 9000rpm and its a deafening thrill ride!!
Really stable (doesnt tramline)
Quick roof has saved me from several rain storms already
CONS:
Revvyness makes for loud M'way cruising.
Do need to be in the right gear at the right time if you are really moving on (but this is the fun bit!)
Insurance is a killer - Group 20. (Im 23 and paying £950 PA)
Now I have some decent metal I look forward to meeting you at some PH events.

I really want one of these. Fast enought to get a buzz from, especially with the high revs, but not too fast that jail pace is achieved in a blink of an eye. Needs respect at all time which I like. Very jealous. Unusual colour too.
Yea I wanted a different colour, see a lot of silver cars around. Its pretty quick, it doesnt blow your face off, but with the screaming revs and roof down 60mph feels like 100mph anyway! But dont get me wrong you still get into license losing numbers pretty quick.

Where are you going to store the hardtop? I want to keep mine indoors but SWMBO banned me so I've got a storage bag and into the garage rafters...

Yup!For reference, this has just been delivered to me and it looks good. I'll let you know what it is like when unpacked if you like.

I've been looking into getting one of these recently.
The best quote I got was on an Admiral multicar policy with two other cars on it (my parents). I'm 22 with 3 years ncb next month *touch wood*. The quote on my own single policy was £2067, but when I put in on a multicar it went down to £1366! A bit more saving and I'm buying!

I have parents as named drivers, they save £150ish I think. Get saving and get one, you wont regret it. What age car you looking at?

Had a go in one when they were new out and have recently been thinking of gettin one as a b road blaster now that they've dropped in price. Maybe in the new year after I get my Beemer the way I want it. Anyways, great car, great colour, enjoy it!!

I'm all over S2000's at the moment! I absolutely love them! That is a stunner as well!
Do you know much about the differences in years / models (GT?)?
AP1 seems to get said a lot! Is that just the first model or is it the one to go for?
What sort of economy do you get below the magic VTEC kicks in?

Technically we only have AP1 here in the UK. AP2 refers to the 2.2 litre US cars from 2004 onwards, we got the facelift at the same time but still AP1 as its still the 2.0 
I got 32.5mpg from £100 worth of fuel recently which was mixed driving, 24.6mpg round town, short journeys etc recently, both with liberal amounts of vtecx and roof down
