Looks very nice mate!
Mind if I ask the mileage and how much you paid for it?
It's done 66,300. I payed £4200 (well £3170 cash + my saxo). Happy with the deal as I wanted a standard one for insurance purposed, plus the warranty is peace of mind

Yep there sure is!
Just two things right off the bat:
Invest in good tyres
Take it easy in the wet

That sentiment seems to be shared by everyone! Just two things right off the bat:
Invest in good tyres
Take it easy in the wet

It's just had 4 new Toyo Proxes fitted, from memory, these are rated as a good tyre?
During the trip home (300miles) that Ive done so far its seems absolutley planted, however Im yet to tackle any B roads in it yet, and yeh, I'm going to have to lear the mid egined characterists slowly so as to not get caught out.
Was considering a track based driving course to get to know the limits with an instructor to aid..

Yep, people seem to like them on the MR2, they are pretty grippy and are good in the wet. The only criticism I hear about them which seems to be true on a lot of cars is the softness of the sidewall. This can cause a nervous feeling on the limit of cornering.Jakestar said:

Good idea
Fantastic car, nice to see an unmodified one. Personally I found my NA Rev 2 almost fool proof. Lack of weight over the front end meant it would understeer first, it was only if you lifted harshly/trail braked or was very optimistic with the throttle on corner exit that the rear wanted to swap ends. I wouldn't have said it was any more twitchy than a 'good' hatch like a 205 (or saxo I should imagine).
Great sense of occasion for a sub 5 grand car too - pop up lamps still rock!

Now that looks ace, so clean inside and out. Are those seats standard too (some do not seem to wear that well)?
Yep they are standard on the "GT" model, optional on the "GTS" model
(one of the reasons I originally went for an MR2, wanted a fast good looking car inside and outside)Not sure about others, but mine seem to be in good nick with only a few marks on the drivers seat. Very pleased with her!

do love the mk2 turbos my brother had a tuned one was spuidly quick
Tuned ones must be extremley quick as mine is very very fast and its had no work done to it!The only other 2 ive been in (passengered) was a rev 2 at 300bhp, that was snap your neck quick in second!!
sounds similar to my brother old one nearly everything under the bonnet was hks and he could only turn the boost up half way before i just came undrivable, didnt help that the fully sports adjustable suspension was set on the hardest lowest setting which left it riding on the bump stops near as dam it, made a harsh ride

Very nice, take it steady in the wet, I speak from experience!
Not wanting to start an argument but I disagree! I've had a Rev 3 Turbo and it was as well-behaved as any other RWD car in the wet that I've driven. Obviously, if you stamp the accelerator pedal into the floor on a wet roundabout, expect to fill in an insurance claim form, but otherwise, it was easy enough to control if the back stepped out. As far as I know, the suspension was standard, although it had 17" alloys (on budget tyres). I really enjoyed driving the thing. It was like a potent, heavy Elise. Not at all the hairdresser car you'd expect. I easily kept up with a 996 C4 in the wet, for instance. I do remember reading about the "wet handling issues" in magazines and on MR2 forums when I was looking for one and when I finally got one, I drove like a granny for the first three months.
Then I realised they were probably over-exaggerating or came from FWD cars. It really was a delight to drive in the wet as well as the dry.It is one of the cars I regret selling.
