Dont think the rebuild of my car has been shown on this forum so here goes.
After a long period of Development my RS is being prepared for an attempt on its own RS Cosworth Topspeed record.
Dynoed at 838bhp/666ft-lb it also has a 200bhp direct port Nitrous system to top up the Power, using a 100bar 'push' system to further boost Power lets just say enough Power is now available.
The vid shows testing at circa 900bhp & more will be used soon, thats 187mph before half way at Bruntingthorpe & that suggests 213/216 is within the cars capabilities in the 1.5miles. Talk of course is easy & it has yet to achieve these targets.

Excellent smile must be hard getting speeds like that out of a sierra the aerodynamics can't be doing any favours.Infact you ever thought of working on that at all?

Actually, a question.

I've seen this car in photos before - it looks to be, to all intents and purposes, bog stock standard Sierra Cossie Bodywork.

As well as the continous quest for power, would it not make sense to put some effort into the Aero side of things? Does the car have a flat under tray, for instance?

Or is it a deliberate choice not to?

indeed, even small mirrors would surely gain you a couple of mph at those sort of speeds.

I'm really interested to know what thought goes into a car like that and what details are considered

Rods not quite that old. but no he doesn't do the driving. He just pays for it then gets Mark (MA Developments) to do the top speed runs. Rather defeats the point to me...

Well quite aside from the fact that it's not actually terribly interesting to whack a gigantic turbo on a Sierra and go over 200mph in it. Those crazy buggers from Scandinavia have been doing that with old Volvos for donkeys years.
