Just finished university so decided it was time to purchase a car, I passed my test nearly 4 years ago but have just borrowed my parents car in the past. I've been saving a while so was originally going to go all out on an impreza wrx sti with the ppp :O but with insurance being so expensive (3.5k cheapest quote as 0 ncb) I have decided to be sensible wait a little while, also buying a powerful car at a relatively young age I think would have made upgrading much more difficult/expensive!
I decided to go with what I call the ultimate comprimise! (in terms of size, speed, insurance, handling, comfort etc) A 306 gti-6
Happy so far, its got good mid range imo and I absolutely love country roads and although it can be a tad noisy on the motorway it performs well
I've already had to replace front springs (it now seems to be sitting a tad high at the front) and the exhaust has suddenly become a tad noisy over time, I think i've managed to knock it quite badly landing after a steep bridge in the countryside. I think I got a couple of meters of air all round
Just wish someone was there to take a picture 
Anyway enough taking, now for a couple of pics
Its only got 2 mods: induction and top strut brace. It will probably stay that way unless I fit the decat I aquired with it. Insurance was a tad over 1k with mods declared and car was only 500 more than the insurance

These do look good value for what they are. I am yet to have the chance to drive one, heard the pedals are hard to get used to, this sort of thing would be good for me as I'm now doing less miles and mpg/total reliability isn't as important so will maybe look at something like this insurance quotes allowing

And you're probably right, its had a large number of previous owners and been known on the gti-6 forums for some time akaik

It can be rather thirsty on the fuel, I swear I can visibly see the petrol gauge go down when I'm 'making progress' I havent got use to heel & toe yet, I think maybe the brake sits a tad high? But being tallish with clumpy shoes doesnt help..

The cars been but I haven't, the advert didnt have it pictured on the car and was a recent edition to the car.
Contemplated taking it off but didnt think it looked too bad and havent even had time to clean the car since buying it!
About to push the car onto the drive now, crank it up and have a little look at what actually happened yesterday! I've not even had a proper look yet as there a cover to remove

I almost feel like taking a DAS and buying a bike
Need to consider the options, not sure if the engines completely had it or if a new sump will be sufficent.. All will be revealed shortly
Just get another engine off Gti6.com - they're breaking all over the place these days. Im sure someone will fit it for a few crates of Stella ...
Shame really, i had a 306 Rallye a few years back. Awesome cars, never quite matched again i dont think, not even my Trophy offers the same level of involvement

Not sure if to risk getting a new sump and running it, getting a whole new engine and attempting to fit it with some help (I don't have the experience or tool to do it myself ) or flogging it as a non runner/splitting it for parts
Insurance as I think I mentioned at the top ^ wasnt too expensive given my lack of ncb..
Really considering doing my DAS in a couple of weeks even if i don't get a bike instantly :P
