2010 Porsche Panamera 4 S

After a 911 C2 Targa(964), 911 C4 Cab(996), 911S Coupe(997) and a 997S Coupe(997.2) it was time to get a more practical car, one that would accomodate both the teenage kids at weekends, and colleagues during the week at work. I have always loved Porsche, been very happy with the cars, the service and the quality, so the arrival of the Panamera was a perfect choice for me.

My car is a Basalt Black Panamera 4S, and after approx 500 miles I am totally in love with it. It drives brilliantly, has lots of pulling power when you want to be sporty and yet cruises silently at 70 on the motorway in absolute comfort. To my eyes it has little pieces of Porsche DNA everywhere you look, and other than the shock of spending almost £120 to fill the tank, it has been a pleasure.

LIKES : Performance - it just pulls and pulls, Smooth or Sporty Ride, Distinctive Looks, Amazing Rear Space.
DISLIKES : Rear view not great, switchgear in roof fiddly, needs a rear wiper, wish i'd got PSE.

Nice, I must be one of very few people that like the car, when I was looking at a 987 boxster s there was one in the local Porsche dealership and in real life from the front I really like the look of the car but not so keen from the back. You have picked a good colour.

I'm a bit of a fan too. The wheels are critical though and make the car in my opinion. If I were ordering one I would have the same wheels as above - no question.

I work in an office block above a Porsche dealership so see loads of these everyday. Trick seems to be to go for a dark colour and some big rims - just like yours!

I think that they are wonderful, not immediate grabbers but definately growers.

Thanks. I certainly agree with the dark colours, think they suit it more. The 20" turbo wheels do make a big difference and are an unusual design, so really pleased with them.

Doesn't '4S' denote the 4WD? IIRC, that's how it works.

They are the right alloys for the Panamera, no question. It might not be the best looking car, but you kinda know it's a very good drivers car.

Very nice, drove one of these a few months ago on a range tester at Silverstone and was very impressed, love the centre console, and the wheels really suit it.

Looks very nice. As mentioned, they are a bit colour sensitive. Definitely look good in black though.

Its a 4S. On the S, it has a 4.8 V8 and as a couple of posters have confirmed, the 4 element denotes that its 4WD

Thank you Sir ! 50:50 Luck vs.Judgement, but i do agree, definitely a body style that suits a dark colour, also much better in the flesh than in a photo.

They probably look small in comparison to the Car, you many not have seen a Panamera in the flesh...they are much bigger than a 911 (much).

Sorry, should have been more specific. Yes. the V8 sounds great when you really put your foot down, but the car is very well sound insulated, so unless you have the wndows down, you don't really get to enjoy it.

every considered aftermarket? if they do them yet for the panamera? if the engine is anything like the cayennes, which i imagine it is, they sound unbelievable with an aftermarket sports exhaust, very raw

I have had a quick scan, not seen anyone offering a Panamera one yet. I think the PSE is a £1,700 option when new, so can guess, with labour its probably £2,500+ as a retro fit, which is a large chunk of change. Anyone seen an aftermarket for the Panamera ?
