Hello all,

After finally giving my car the clean it deserved/needed, I figured I would take a few pics and share them on here. Hopefully there will be one or two people knocking around who might appriciate it smile

Its a 1994 Sport in Avus Blue and I've owned it for about 10 months now. It has been very good to me whilst in my ownership, only let me down once and that was within the first 2 weeks of purchasing it! Other than that though it has been good as gold. Anyway, enough ramblings, here are the goods...

Thanks for browsing, comments/critisisms of all shapes and sizes are welcome!

To anyone who cares, here are a few snaps of my new motor!

Its an E39...

More specifically a...

And more importantly, comes fully equiped with one of these...

Again, thanks for looking!

I like the colour, makes it look really tidy. I'm not sure about the wheels though.

They'd look lovely on an 850i, but I agree, they don't work so well on the older E34 shape.

Are the wheels copies of X5 alloys?

Love the car, been searching on and off for a good e34 sport for a couple of years. Prefer the M5 white rear lamps than those aftermarket crystal lamps, but each to his own. Beautiful car otherwise.

That's lovely. Great colour and spec, not 100% about the alloys but still a very good looking car.

Had an E34 525 for about 20 miles - auto gearbox failed on journey home from dealer so was returned eventually. Gutted about that and ended up back in a 328, e34 is still an itch I need to scratch...

Thanks for the comments guys. Seems the wheels are a little contraversial (sp?), I personally quite like them, I think they work well with the car. Although not quite aswell as a set of 18" Paras..... I wish....

As for are they copies of X5 wheels? I really havn't a clue, they were on there when I bought the car, though I can picture the similarities in my head.

How is it to drive? Extremely sweet actually, soaks up motorway miles in a cruiser barge like way, yet can hustle B roads pretty well. Dont get me wrong it is a big car but it can eat up the cross country tarmac nicely considering it is a four door saloon.

Only downsides? I have a feeling that being a sport model it has a close ratio box/diff combo meaning motorway cruising speed is a little high up the rev range. It is quite firmly sprung too so knocking about town can be a little jarring, although that may have something to do with the low profile tyres...

Its also crap on fuel!

Other than that it is a good piece of kit smile

Nice set of motors cool

I always thought the 540's brake discs were too big for anything less than 17" alloys-how come this is the case on an E46 330 when the 540 is just as fast??

Not a fan of the wheels but that aside lovely!

And tidy E39. The 540i (535i, 530d facelift and 530i) all share the same brakes and must have 16" wheels minimum. I'm looking for a set of turbines like this on my BMW to protect the ones on my 530i over winter.

My E34 was made of granite, 230k still going strong not missed a beat.

Very nice, a little undecided on the wheels but better than the standard BBS I reckon, to my eyes they never quite suit the E34 like they do the E28 or E30. On the few occasions I've been after one of these as a cheap snotter (including now) I can never find one of these in manual form

*shameless plug alert*

It does have a few 'issues' which for some reason makes me feel mildy ashamed of myself for not sorting out sooner frown

As much as I would love to keep it for years to come, trying to insure 2 cars at 21 years old is a 'bend over and lube up' afair...

Again, thanks for the comments, it's a good feeling to know your car is appreciated smile
