My Audi A2 Color Storm Edition
Discussion
I've had this a couple of weeks now and today had the time to give it a good wash, clay bar and polish.
Its the 1.6 petrol which is the least economical in the range but it should still manage 40+MPG thanks to a weight of around 950kg and the aluminium and composite body.
The Colour Match model comes with 17" RS4 type alloys, stupidly firm suspension and satin black painted roof and arches etc. Ours also has reverse parking sensors which are a blessing in a vehicle of this shape.
Performance it adequate for driving around town and it can be good fun on a twisty B road too. Motorway cruising is easy and I can believe the quoted 126mph top speed.

Very clever cars for their time (still are really). It's shame there aren't more about, although it's not surprising given the price when new!
Can't say I'm that keen on the black bits on the Colourstorms but if I had to have one, the blue ones do seem to look much better than the red and yellow ones. Is it a 4 seat or 5 seat?

A car in our spec would have cost over £15k new.
I agree that blue is the best "Colour Storm" - The red is a bit too orange. We looked at a few normal silver SE's then dropped into a dealer just to take a look at this. From the autotrader picture it looked like it had the full glass roof which we diddnt want - I was pleasantly surprised to find it was satin black paint and not glass.

Its an 04 reg but really doesnt' look it's age. The A2 was way ahead of it's time and I think that was party why it diddnt sell very well (but mostly that was down to the price!)
The A1 will no doubt sell by the million thanks to its slightly more mainstream looks.
Our A2 is the 4 seat version - you can remove the rears and its like a baby van.

But essentially the A1 is a Polo underneath isn't it? The A2 offered something genuinely different to other superminis. The A1 will no doubt sell by the million thanks to its slightly more mainstream looks.
Always wanted one of these, couldn't find a decent low-milage example to convince the old man that it was a viable option for me, despite him being an Audi man himself... Colour Storms look great in each of the colours with the matte panels, I've got an A2 Colour storm poster somewhere...
