Right before I start I'm not an "auto" hater, I've driven auto's and would without a problem (and probably will) get an automatic for my next car, but why would you get an restricted licence and not a full licence?

Obviously I understand disabilities and other stuff come into play so feel free not to answer just wondering?

Changing from a 1.8 astra to a 1.6 astra for "fuel economy" sounds like a false economy to me. How different will the fuel consumption be? On the motorway a 1.8 might be more economical than a 1.6

Also when buying a new car you may find that it has a few problems, better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

Easytronic is possibly the worst gearbox ever invented, I'd suggest sticking with the normal auto box.
