First Car, Clio DCi

Well, been on PH a while now, recently turned 17 and bought this Clio today.
Ps. I apologise for the fog lights and the general dirtiness of the car.

Looks good for a first car. Just (IMO) the front grill mesh looks awful! Get it back to standard.

Are those headlights aftermarket?

Its an insurance group 4, but that seems to mean nothing these days, im getting quotes of about 2500-3000, but iv got no choice but to pay it the thieving fks! Yeah, the mesh is horrible, its either getting sprayed black or getting the standard panels for it. Finally i don't think the headlights are aftermarket AFAIK the insides have been painted black or something.

FYI they came with either black or grey inserts in the lights as standard. The colour depends on the colour of your car, yours are meant to be black.

I agree as well get rid of that awful grill mesh crap! Standard grill or 172/182 grill and your away!

I've had a few of these when I was a bit younger, both petrol and my dads got a DCi. Great cars, I upgraded to the sport leather interior (often found on ebay for £200-£300) and well worth it as you will get £175-200 for your interior to so could end up costing nothing!

Glad everyone likes it, except the mesh gril, and it also has a hal-frauds turbo badge that is getting removed sharpish, any tips on how to go about it?

Slowly slide it downwards to get it off off the glue, then remove the left over stickiness with turps

ETA Try not to rip of any paint!

thats good news jsg, its just over half way there so its got life in 'er yet. Thanks lewis i'll try that this weekend, other method i heard was using fishing line to peel it aff? I'll do it some how!

Why did you spunk your hard earned cash on a pre-barried example if you didn't want the tat in the first place? The car is far more likely to be ragged, abused and poorly maintained than the hundreds of similar examples currently up for sale in the country.

All I said is im painting a grille black and taking off a badge? I personaly like everything else. And it was a few hundred pounds cheaper than others of the same age milage etc, and its been regularly serviced at a main branch.
I knew i was going to have to defend myself.

Small update, few things have been done;
Nasty silver grille and Silver badge have been sprayed black,



Also gotten rid of the Halfords' Turbo badge.



And replaced it with a Smiley And yeah it is hardly visible but I did want subtlety.
