the 216 had the S-series and 213 had the much better smoother honda engine
Yes, and IIRC was as quick? A far superior car.The Honda engine was smoother - but the S-series was more economical (despite being 200cc's bigger) and alot faster.
That looks pretty tidy. I bet that's another car you got for nowt?! Good luck with it. Hey, by the way, how did the pics of my car at saloon day come out? If any good post them up on my thread in readers cars 'MG Montego Turbo'. My pics don't do the car justice, but your's might! (You had a decent camera on the day!)

I think the Montego on the original alloys looks so much cooler.
Have to agree. Somehow the originals look bigger and more upmarket. However, the other car looks mint. Would be good if he could refurb the originals. Mind you, I've no room to talk! See my thread......'MG Montego Turbo'. I've gone a bit more extreme fitting 18"!my montego was not washed for about 2 weeks when i went to the brit-cars meeting, its used every day and not stuck in a garage over winter as mine stay out side in all weathers and the mint looking one was quite few hrs polishing it.......today clean and polished it for the first time....
needs buffing now on the roof and on the middle of the bonnet as it very dull
