Hi Guys,
After reading yr forums for a while, I joined up today, maybe will attend some meetings in the future to make some noise wink

I'm from Holland, live in a windmill, walk on wooden shoes and eat cheese every hour, and smoke pot the whole ******* day ;-)

This is how the car looks like, wingless bit of ricer style I guess. The 17" wheels are for drifting by the way, mounted with very crappy wanli tyres.

Frontview at 100kmh sideways
(don't mind the missing parts, I found them a hour later, hade some close encounters with the berm biggrin)

Access from the rear will be a bit painfull ;-) mind your head LOL

View from the rear

Nice movie, snow in the Netherlands january 2010, actually my first attempts to drift on public roads

Another Nice movie, this is at airport Weeze in Germany :-) march 2010

I modded the car quite heavily in order to make it possible to drift. I don't know if it's business as usual to post modlists overhere..........I will do so upon request !

Cheerio

Mod list please. Rather intrigued as to RWD conversion as a mate of mine just bought an old Audi V8 Quattro barge and wants to convert it to RWD.

HAHA LOL @ immediate request for modlist. Most people think that the WRX is RWD. To be clear : IT ISN'T !

I swapped the complete driveline for a 98 sti type RA driveline with the reknown 4.444 final drive. Top speed decreased from a mighty 260+kmh to a -in the pub not talked about- 210kmh. Who cares. Top speed doesn't mind, it's the way how I get there. A rather long 1st gear, the rest is MX style :-)

The best mod on the car as a whole is the Quick Rack Steering, from 4 turns to 2.1 turns lock to lock ;-)

They certainly do. Did you have to fill the redundant holes in?

Really like it! How come you haven't removed the rear seats though? They're clearly useless, so might as well lose the weight of them.

Hi its 35/65 bias, to 50/50 locked
Rear seat is in while underneath the seat it is a mess, in the future I will cover this with a carpet or something.
The weight gain from removing the rear seat is less than 15kg.....................
So i removed my spare tyre to compensate for that :P

How is the 35/65 bias achieved? Is it easy to modify a standard STI to this?

It's a planetary gear inside a diff, that has a electronically controlled plated locking system.
The plates really look like motorcycle clutch plates. The type RA had a 35/65 bias, the normal dccd -sold as option to sti's >my01- had a 45-55% iirc.

Any 5MT from a WRX can be swapped with a dccd unit.

The 6mt dccd is much beefier, and more important, there are revision sets of the clutch plates available.

The DCCDpro.com controller was wired in the wiring loom to get the trhottle angle, a handbrake signal, and a signal from a aftermarket 3axis G sensor. The buttons are OEM, and the whole thing is wired up to the JDM V8 cluster, so I can see on my cluster if the dccd computer is in auto or manual mode, and how the bias is dailed in. When performing in auto mode, you see the christmas tree showing the lights of the bias being altered during hard acceleration, hard cornering or drifting. Very nice, and very OEM.

Here's a pic of this afts drift session :-) I like it dirty :-P
