I went in search of a sensible family estate following the sale of my campervan. My wife gave me a small criteria that it had to be an estate. So i came home with a 300bhp awd V70 R.
Ive never had anything like it. Makes the TVR look a bit of a slough!
Will have to see how long i keep this one for.
Although not all plain sailing, needed a new head light ballast. So within first week looked like this.....
Sorted now for a lot less than main steeler, i bet.

How do you find the ride when in comfort mode? I've heard mixed reviews, some saying its fine and others saying its still too hard.
Read another review complaining about how heavy the clutch was too.
Really interested in buying one of these at some point so wouldn't mind finding out if they are all being a bunch of namby pamby wooses about it!

I had 2 V70R's, an auto and a manual, the later being a much better car. The clutch isn't heavy at all so don't know where anyone got that impression from. The ride on comfort was very good...put it on 'advanced' however and it was just plain hard!Read another review complaining about how heavy the clutch was too.

The manual was chipped to about 350bhp and had a full stainless system on it...made a great noise when pressing on...have to say I miss the R whenever I'm trying to overtake anything in the Discovery!
I had an 03 plate manual V70 R in silver for 3yrs, was a great car. We did about 40,000 trouble free miles. The clutch was nice and light. Suspension was a bit hard though even with the 3 settings,adavanced only anygood for a trackday.The AWD was amazing you could take liberties in the wet & drive like a maniac.

Do you know they changed the suspension from 05-onwards? They got Richard Parry-Jones (Ford's suspesion guru involved it it rode very well in Comfort on the later cars. Read another review complaining about how heavy the clutch was too.
OP: Good to see you've made your way over from the VOC to here, make sure you get a PH sticker on it
Reguarding the suspension, I like it in sport setting but the wife tells me to switch to comfort as soon as she gets in. Awesome fun. Love the sleeper looks and the fact no one will pass you on the motorway until level and had a good look at the t-shirt wearing driver.
Seems strange writing these two names in the same thread but tvr and Volvo have a different kind of 'quickness'. Tvr is raw and the Volvo is relentless, alway bags of power in reserve and tons of grip.
One may have to go though........

Had my S60R for 2.5 years now and in that time, its done over 10,000 miles on track alone, mainly at Castle Combe, Silverstone and Goodwood circuits 
They are very good, understated cars and seem to have lots of traction in even the poorest driving conditions.
