[url] Here is my new Octavia vRS fresh off the factory - going to pick it up in a couple of days.

It is 2.0 turbocharged petrol (200 BHP), manual gearbox, and has leather, xenons, parking sensors, etc.

The white wrap is for transit (to stop bird poo), the car is all grey smile

You can even see all the badges are covered up in the second picture! smile

I am thinking of a remap after a few thousand miles to let the engine loosen up a bit. I have heard that the 2l turbo can be mapped to 230-240bhp without much trouble (I think it's called a Shark remap)

Actually, I wondered if anyone can help with this: I was offered GardX for £199 by the dealer, and declined as I wanted to get a hand detailer do clean the car the first time. Can this be done for a couple of hundred pounds or is my budget unrealistic for hand detailing? Any recommended detailers in the North London area?

Thanks!

Nice new motor.

I'd be tempted to remap it too - doesn't effect warranty though?

Initially did think it was two-tone colour, but then saw the second pic.
New cooker was (vinyl?) wrapped in a similar way too.

I think almost all Skodas are factory fresh at the moment. There appears to be a waiting list for all models. My new Fabia vRS was due next week, but it turns out it hasn't been built yet and will be here 2nd week in November. My colleagues Octavia is an even longer wait, they were both ordered in July. They certainly don't sit in compounds for months on end anymore.

Those lights look very mercedes benz-ish, or is that just me?

Looks good, is it the same 2.0ltr turbo as the Scirocco? I've been out in one, it sounds amazing!

Unless Skoda have moved along the Octavia has the old 2.0 TFSI lump which was used in the old Golf etc, the new Sirocco uses the newer TSI engine, power difference their isn't much in it, the Sirocco (TSI) puts out an extra 10hp over the Octy.
