1984 Audi Coupe , Kamei Kit and a few other bits

Hi guys, have been meaning to come onto this forum for AGES and have finally gotten round to doing so , anyway here a few pics of the Audi Coupe I am restoring at the moment,

When i got her....









and a few of the work i have been doing to it over the last 9 months



after










i under sealed the front drivers side and painted the caliper,



thought i would chip off some of the current underseal to see how the metal is behind, and here it is, LIKE NEW

also had a poke about on the sills to find this!!! bugger, am having them patched up in the near future.




just had a quick hour and a half on the car refitting the cam cover and cam belt cover.

they came and well and im pleased with how they turned out, next job is to pick up my gear linkage and heater controls from my dads house and get cracking with them along with renewing the wiring on a sensor on the back on the block/head





undersealed the whole passenger side and rear end, painted the remaining drum and caliper, and repainted the inner wing. no rust holes anywhere in sight!!

also painted the light brackets , will be ordering two track rod ends this week so it will be mostly new suspension on the front







have refitted the headlight covers and grilled, painted the front splitter again, and also stripped apart the dash console to try and sort out the problem of dim lighting at night

the problem seems to be a retrofitted (bodged) sidelight bulb used as the main lights for nighttime driving, so i am going to upgrade the bulbs so they are a little brighter

bought myself a K&N filter, and have hopefully located a sunroof mech, getting parts together now so i can service it once i have had the valve stem seals and headgasket done



I have managed to find a set of wheels i wanted!

they are 15" ATS alloys with a 25 offset , will get some new rubber for them once i get them painted up,

I have a new Rad to go on,
the alloys once i have painted them, then the dash will be coming out to be Flocked I think

no its my father in laws, i have driven it before and OMG they are an amazing car.

i used to have this baby which was a good bit of fun against him

i was 24 when i had that, and it cost me £800 odd , then when i was 25 it was 600 odd , green light insurance

sadly its not a quattro the GT's were all FWD, it has the 2.1 5 cylinder in it, so it sounds nice, and tbh it goes quite well for such a heavy car

thats the exact reason i bought it mate, when i sold the skyline i was fed up with high repair bills etc, you can pick up engines etc for peanuts. and a lot of the parts are interchangable with other audis/vw's

Yes, she looks great.
I had a black Audi Coupe GT back in the 80s. Loved it loads. Finally sold it in 1992 to a t*sser who wrote it off within the first month he had it.
Photo in my "Garage" on here, but here it is anyway. Taken about 1992 not long before her demise.

nice! i like the cookie cutter wheels they came with standard,

tbh the GT's arent worth a lot at all, but any UR quattro is always worth a lot of money

My uncle has lived in Luxembourg for the past 30-odd years and when I used to go to his house in the early 80s, I used to want the cars out there with the Zender bodykits and all the other stuff like the Audi in this thread. It just really takes me back to those days, especially as he had a Renault 18 Turbo, a car that I thought was the absolute nuts at the time
