I'll look into that Driver's side bolster is showing a fair bit of wear as well, maybe the last owner was a fat bar-steward.

Yup, it's a speaker. The Mondeo ST was introduced at a time of get strife at Ford, with workers threatening industrial action due to their working conditions. I've got one of them. Silver is a great colour for them, blue is wayyy too common.

The grille/vent in the cover is to stop the coilpack getting too hot. Plus it looks cool.

looks lovely. mondeos seem like excellent value. I plan to hopefully get one of those eras, maybe a 1.8litre zetec for under £2k. more car for ur money then the equivalent fiesta/focus

Most likely taken off? Common modification with Focaii and Fiesta.

They only had rubstrips on the 2003 facelift model which had the 6 speed box and other minor changes mainly the interior but also the rear lights and wing mirrors were changed. They dropped the rubstrips again from 2004 ish onwards.

Nice car, i'd quite like one of these but I don't think i'd enjoy putting the fuel in. How are you finding the mpg?

I usually get 28-32mpg, and mines had a few tweaks up to 240bhp, i would say thats tolerable.
