Ecutek i think is a conservative map around 1.1bar max, COBB is slightly more aggressive at 1.2bar and with these mods they dyno anywhere from 565 to 600 dependent. Mine was 504bhp in standard guise and on the seat dyno it certainly feels a lot more! What i like about the COBB is you have map switching while on the drive so there is a selection available at the flick of a button dependent on conditions, boost and fuel for you to select

Stunning motor! Ive been considering getting a gtr nxt year,love everything about them although the more ive been looking into them im being slightly put off.Costs for consumables ie. tyre,brakes etc seem to be verging on the silly side. The latest thing ive read is about a system the car has that pushes the bonet up in the case of a minor front end impact to protect pedestrians in case you run into someone.
Ive read about 2 cases of this being triggered unintentionally. First case was by one guy driving over a pot hole and secondly by a lump of snow falling off the car in front and landing on the gtr! The scary thing is that when this happens it can cost up to £12,000 to put right again!!
Any thoughts?

I think there is a lot of misrepresented hype from people lamenting on cost of running vs initial purchase price. The bonnet pop us is a system there to ensure clearance of a pedestrian hitting the block should an accident occur. I think in the instance of a pot hole, the council pays the tab for that and snow is an incredible misfortune! I have had no issues neither have the 600 or so other owners! Tyres and breaks can be expensive if you use Nissans HPC, however i have recently bought a full set of Bridgestone tyres for less than a grand fitted, which i think i can live with. Services very reasonable, i don't use Nissan i use Litchfield’s and 12k service was £340. All in all you pay to play and what you get for the initial outlay is phenomenal value so the slightly higher than average/its peers running costs is worth the smiles per miles when you're behind the wheel!

Inkeys- Think it has a 5year guarantee, now i can't confirm that but it springs into my head. Perhaps give Robbie at Valet Magic a shout to discuss with the pro!

Hi andy,thanks for the feedback.Thats made me feel a little more positive to be honest.My current daily drive is a Bmw E46 M3 which ive had for nearly 4 years now and running costs for that are quite high.
A set of four Michelins cost me £1200 fitted and its in for a service today actually at my local bmw independent which is £540,Front pads and discs also being done at £465.Costs like this i dont mind,i expect brakes etc to be a bit more expensive on a gtr but ive heard of hpc's charging £750 to change front pads alone which i feel is a bit much to be honest.
I only live about ten minutes drive from middlehurst nissan and was thinking this would be the obvious place to go should i buy one but maybe not as it seems to be the main dealers where the 'silly' prices are coming from.(bmw main dealers are probably worse)
There is a place very local to me called car planet racing who imported many of the early gtr's into the uk and they also service and tune gtr's.The guys who work there used to work for a company called rc developments who looked after a couple of mitsubishi evos i previously owned and really knew their stuff.
Have you heard any reports about car planet racing regarding the gtr or know of anywhere in the northwest of england with a good rep? (lichfields is a bit out of my way)
Anyway,seeing the pics of your car has only whet my appetite for a gtr again and if they are as good as ive seen,read about im sure i wont be dissapointed. Im thinking an 09 car,titanium grey or black £40-£45k next spring/summer.
Any more feed back would be most welcome. Cheers.
P.S I understand some owners are looking into having the pop up bonnet system disabled,would be a big worry off my mind!

Interesting take on the wrap, or foil as we call it here (Dubai).
I like it, work with the original paint rather than change the whole thing.
There is a matte white one here I keep coming across that looks amazing, saw it 2 days ago munching a 911 turbo, I was having fun trying to keep up in mine (warmed over S197 GT Mustang).
