My Ford Racing Fiesta
Discussion
Been on here for a while... Thought I better post my current car up
My first car was a Fiesta Zetec S which I absoulutely loved! Taught me a lot how to handle a car on the edge round the lanes of kent and took a lot of abuse without any complaints. Then it got written off by some dosy cow pulling out on me, but still lives on with one of my mates who fixed it up!
I then ran a mondeo for few months while I wondered what to get next, and always come back to the Fiesta cos I loved them so much!!
I looked in to the Racing Puma, but they were a bit too much money for not brilliant condition ones, and the general running costs/problems they encounter I didnt really fancy it. So finding a fiesta with the engine conversion, matched with suitable suspension and brakes it cant be far off the performance, but a whole lot less!!
The previous owner kept it looking as standard as possible, which I liked so wont really change much!
Surprised a few cars ive met
As it stands now,
FRP engine and gearbox converted by pumabuild (£3800 :O)
Weitec coilovers
Bigger brake conversion using mondeo calipers, focus st170 discs
4-2-1 manifold with 2.5" mid section to standard backbox (to keep it standard/sleeperish look
)
FRP Sparco seats which are absolutely mint!
Rear seats removed and re carpetted area to keep it looking smart.
I'll add more pics tomorrow!

Really like it, except the ST centre caps, why don't you go for the phase 2 alloys?
Also, I know you stated you wanted to keep it standard, but 'de-tangoing' the front headlights is always a good thing in my opinion, I can offer a step by step guide if you would like.
Are you on ZSOC or puma people? I used to be on ZSOC, but not in a while, fantastic bunch of people anyhow.

You cant really get much more out of the racing puma engine, as it is a tuned version of 1.7 puma engine anyway! There is more aggressive cams, but usually lose vct, or throttle bodies but then you lose the lovely inlet manifold!
. The wheels were refurbed and powdercoated anthrite grey by previous owner which was his buisness, and they look the nuts so will only get rid of them for a set of compomotive th's
I de tangoed my last fiesta which was silver cos it didnt look right, but I think with the imperial blue it looks ok!
I am on zsoc yeah, thats where I bought the car from, and also the seats haha!
I'll get some more pics up later on.

Very nice fiesta, i had a zetec s inbetween my puma's, friend of mine has that car now and its got the puma engine in plus a few other mods, makes about 142bhp and really flies!!
anychance of a pic of the calipers on yours?? they have to be ground down to fit the 300mm brakes behind 15" wheels and i need to know how much to take off them, ive got 300's on my puma but wanna come down from 17's to 15's

I love these cars. Just a shame you've got to be girl sized to fit into them. I'm only 6'1 and my knees rub the dash board while driving any MK4 fiesta.
Top car. IMO the best colour too.
How? I'm 6"2 and I don't have that problem. You must be all legs!Top car. IMO the best colour too.

Cheeers for comments peoples
I believe the way to do it is take a tiny bit off, then fit the wheel up to it and take off tiny bit more if needed, until it fits. Just make sure you do tiny parts at a time to make sure you dont take too much off.
Alternatively, just get 280mm discs, mine do fill out the wheel nicely and stop very well, even on standard pads without too much enthusiastic braking
and you dont need to mess about with the calipers.
