Alfa GTV V6 with Aerokit.

Following on from my rather lovely old 156 V6 on this thread:

She has now gone to a new home in Ireland, and has been replaced by a 2000 GTV 3.0 V6 with Aerokit and red leather. Really pleased with her; the condition is nowhere near to my standards as yet (though I am pedantic), but I'm slowly progressing on getting things as I want them. Here's some initial photos to give you all an idea.

Love it, especially the 'red style' interior, that seems to be quite a rare option, not as rare as the 'blue style' mind.

Are you planning on any mods?

She certainly needs a noisier exhaust. The engine note sounds strangled by the numerous mufflers/silencers Alfa installed, so I think a slightly less restrictive system is a must. Nothing antisocial mind, as you have to keep that glorious Alfa tone. Otherwise, I'm more intent on getting the condition right. The header tank is horrendously discoloured like they all do, so that needs replacing. The numberplates are a bit manky now, the wheels need a refurb and the doors have got various parking dings in them. Once that is done and dusted, I'll be doing some experimentation.

robsco, what area of yorkshire are you in? I am definitely up for a blast sometime... Absolutely love hammering it from York up into the moors... The busso v6 being revved hard through 2nd and 3rd... soo good. I LOVE my Alfa.

I'm based near Goole, but I work at Clifton Moor. I haven't taken the GTV anywhere near the moors, so it would be an interesting drive.

This is the best GTV V6 exhaust available IMO. Amazing sound when 'on it', but subtle enough the rest of the time. Very good quality too. Different sections are available separately too, in case you don't want to splash a grand all at once...

When I had mine a fair few years back, I pulled the standard multiple-silencer job off and had a replacement custom-made with just the 1 silencer I think...

Beefmeister - the Alfaholics exhaust does look like a really good quality item, I read a review on them in Car's 100th anniversary of Alfa edition and there wasn't a bad word said. Same over on the Alfa Owner forum. The only concern I have is that some have said that the difference in volume over the standard exhaust is barely perceptible? I've been put off by Ragazzon for precisely the opposite reason; rowdy and antisocial. Both points might be wrong, but its difficult to choose when you haven't heard each individually. Youtube doesn't give a proper idea...
